- Can I check my file for accuracy prior to submitting it through Desktop Originator?
- Selecting "Check Application" from the utility menu will check your file for errors and omissions prior to your submission for underwriting.
- When I have entered information in a section and go to the next section, my information was not saved. What happened to it?
- After completion of a section of the 1003 manager, you must click on one of the two buttons at the bottom of the page ("click here to save" or "save and continue") to save this information. If you have selected another section and hit "go" in the menu bar prior to saving, this information was not saved. You can click on the "back" button of your browser to the section you input information without saving, then click one of the save buttons.
- How do I clear the co-borrower answers in the declarations section?
- The answers on the declarations section are defaulted to the most common answers. It is not necessary to clear these fields if there is no co-borrower. The system will not send co-borrower answers if there is no co-borrower on the file (no information input for co-borrower in the rest of the 1003).
- Can I view the underwriting findings of loans I have submitted to Desktop Originator?
- Yes. Go to the utility menu for your borrower and choose "View Application History" then hit "Go". Click on the link to the Underwriting Findings.
- What is the process for accessing lender products and prices and submitting the Form 1003?
- You can go directly to the Desktop Originator Center at www.lioninc.com/desktoporiginator, click on Submit a File, and follow one of two paths for completing your Uniform Residential Loan Application Form 1003:
- you can import the Form 1003 from your loan origination system by following the simple steps shown on LION?s Web site, or
- you can complete the Form 1003 directly online.
Then, follow the standard steps for a Desktop Originator Classic submission.
How LION Works

- How will Desktop Originator lenders receive mortgage loan submissions from originators via the LION Web site?
- All Desktop Originator lenders will be able to receive loan submissions from their sponsored originators via the LION Web site. Loans submitted via the LION interface adhere to the same process already established by lenders for Desktop Originator Classic submissions and will be co-mingled with existing Desktop Originator Classic submissions in their Desktop Originator loan browsers. Desktop Originator Classic loan submissions completed from the LION Web site are subject to the same lender-specific product selection, product eligibility and Gatekeeper edits as all other Desktop Originator Classic loan submissions.
